Since my use is for research, it would have been a plus to have the timeline with dates in the margins for quicker reference, rather than "in-line" and requiring reading a whole paragraph to locate the relevant dates.|About the Author|Chris Ward is an author and historian.

6 Group was born out of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP), which, among other things called for the formation of 25 Canadian Squadrons in Britain. This figure was later downsized.
